Henry Cavill Costume In Netfix The Witcher

If you are active on Instagram and follow Henry Cavill on the social media app, you might have already seen the pictures that Henry Cavill posted today as Geralt from the Netflix show The Witcher in a brand new fit.

Henry posted two pictures of him in his fresh costume with brand new armour, messy, open, white hair of the white wolf reaching a few inches further down his shoulders and the signature look in his eyes to die for. Henry Cavill was the perfect fit for the character of Geralt and he has once again proven it with just two pictures of himself as Geralt on the social media platform.

If you saw the post on Instagram and read the caption below the post carefully, you might be wondering where the lines are from and some of you may not know who Andrzej Sapkowski is.

For those who aren’t familiar with the name, Andrzej Sapkowski is a Polish writer who is the creator of the book series with Geralt as the protagonist. The Witcher saga consists of five books: the first one being Blood of Elves which was released in Polish in 1994 and in English in 2008. This book didn’t take long to become a huge hit in Poland and was soon followed by the sequels Time of Contempt, Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow and in the end, the saga was concluded with the final book of the series: The Lady of the Lake, which was released in 1999.

The lines that you read as the caption of the pictures posted by Henry Cavill on social media platforms was a part of the book Time of Contempt which was released in 1995 as the immediate sequel of the first book of The Witcher Saga. Here is the caption in its entirety:

‘It may turn out,’ said the white-haired man a moment later, ‘that their comrades or cronies may ask what befell these evil men. Tell them the Wolf bit them. The White Wolf. And add that they should keep glancing over their shoulders. One day they’ll look back and see the Wolf.’”  – From the writings of Andrzej Sapkowski

In these lines, it is obvious that Geralt has intimidated his enemies and is further letting them know who he is and what he is capable of. The white wolf is Gerald himself with his white, free-flowing hair and his witcher eyes.

Tim Aslam was the costume designer for The Witcher season 1 but was replaced by Lucinda Wright for the costume design for season 2 of the show. It is clear that Lucinda had a whole new take on Geralt’s costume and didn’t hold back from making him look as badass as possible. From the armour to the shoulder pads, from the belts to the gloves, Geralt got a whole new look for season 2 and it will excite the fan base of The Witcher to finally have one official announcement from the show.

We can’t really see a lot of the background in the pictures that Henry Cavill posted but it, kind of, looks like Kaer Morhen. If our guess is correct then it is going to bring something hugely interesting in The Witcher season 2.
